A quick post

This is a short post, here are some sketches.  Another color collab with my friend Lily, she did the hair and the cup and I did everything else. I like how I did the table with the reflections and skratches.

More sillouettes and graffiti things, I really love doing these.

And here's a quick sketch of a girl. I wanted to draw a baggy cardigan, sorry for the extra white space in the pictures, haha.

Fanart Friday

Sorry for not posting yesterday! I was busy this short story comic I am writing for a contest. The deadline is July 9! So since it's Friday that means, fanart! So here is some fanart of one of my favorite webcomics on the web, Homestuck!
It's the trolls! All 12 of them. I tried giving them each unique poses and different lighting.

Some quick things.

I'm starting to get bored with manga. There is nothing new that really appeals to me and I find most of the new stuff boring, generic, or annoying. I'm even getting tired of some of the series that I started collecting long time ago. I was abandond at Hastings the other day with ten bucks and 2 hours of time and as I waited for my Mom, I read comics in print for the first time like graphic novels and comic books and I really enjoyed them and when I go there agian with enough cash, I'm going to buy something else other than manga for the first time. It's kinda ridiculous, but we all have to start somewhere, espiecally since I want to make comics and not manga since I don't live in japan or know japanese. I'll still collect some of my favorite series, but I think I want to move on. Anyway, here are some small illustrations.

Before and After

Here are some really old pictures from 2008, when my illustrations had an anime kind of thing going on. It looked terrible. I re-did some of those old pictures and I know that the newer ones are still ameteur but I'm very glad I don't draw like how I did anymore.
Here's one I re-did today actually. I still have to work on lighting and things.

The newer one was done last year I think and is a little wonky, but I wanted to show how ugly and uneven the previous one was, haha. I hope you enjoyed them!

Old and New

I have so many things I want to post, but I'll just keep the minimum to three. So, I've been thinking about creating a short comic, maybe less than 20 pages. I have never made an actual comic before, even though that's the kind of career I want. I know it seems far fetched, but it's not like I plan to become the next Scott Pilgrim :P It's not like I can't do other illustrating jobs and commisions and things like that. Anyway, that's what I think. Here is an old illustation I did in 2009, I touched it up a bit, but I think it's pretty good, especially since it was from 2 years ago.  Click to see full size!

For this picture I wanted to try a more simplistic kind of shading, trying to show the closest parts and the deepest parts of the face. I really like curly hair too, haha.

Tomorrow I'll probably post some of my finished illustrations.

My First Blog

Hey my first Blog! Don't make fun of me! I don't expect anyone to follow my blog, this is more of a personal journal to post my sketches and things. I think having one of these is a good idea for promoting and social networking, so I decided to make a blog, I will personalize the layout later : )
